China News Service, Beijing, June 7 (Reporter Liu Yuying) Data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China on the 7th showed that the total output of lithium-ion batteries in the country from January to April exceeded 282GWh (gigawatt hours), a year-on-year increase of 17.5%, and the industry maintained a growth trend.
According to the information of lithium battery industry standard announcement companies and the calculation of industry associations, in the battery segment, the national energy storage lithium battery production exceeded 48GWh from January to April. The installed capacity of power lithium batteries for new energy vehicles was about 120.4GWh. Affected by the price reduction of lithium battery materials, the price of lithium battery products has dropped accordingly. From January to April, the total export volume of lithium batteries in the country reached 124.2 billion yuan (RMB, the same below), a year-on-year decrease of 15%.
In the first-order material segment, from January to April, the national output of positive electrode materials, negative electrode materials, separators, and electrolytes reached 735,000 tons, 535,000 tons, 4.9 billion square meters, and 320,000 tons, respectively, with year-on-year growth rates of more than 15%.
In the second-order material segment, the national production of lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide from January to April was 171,000 tons and 104,000 tons, respectively. The average prices of battery-grade lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide (micro powder grade) were 104,000 yuan/ton and 98,000 yuan/ton, respectively.
